Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Ucademy (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information We Collect
Information you provide: when you complete a form (such as Request Information or Contact), we collect details like your name, email address, phone number, program of interest and any message you send us.
Information collected automatically: when you visit our website we may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, including through cookies and similar technologies.
Online Campus Accounts
If you create a free account on our Online Campus (edu.ucademy.ca), we collect your name, e-mail address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), whether you agreed to receive marketing e-mails, and when you registered and confirmed your e-mail address.
When you use the campus we also keep a record of the lessons you open and complete, your quiz answers and results, assignments you submit, labs you complete, the messages you send through Messages (to an instructor, technical support or academic advising) together with any screenshot or file you attach, your posts in lesson discussions, and our staff’s replies.
- Messages and attachments are visible only to you and Ucademy staff. Attachments are stored in a private area of our server and are never publicly accessible.
- Lesson discussion posts are visible to students in the same program and to instructors. Staff may hide posts that break our Student Code of Conduct.
- Lab code you write in a browser lab is saved only in your browser on your device; we record only that you completed the lab.
- Service e-mails: we send you sign-in codes and a notice when our staff reply to your message. The notice contains a link to the campus, not the message itself.
Mobile app. If you use the Ucademy mobile app, we also store the sign-in tokens for your devices, a push-notification address (only if you allow notifications), the phone number you choose to add to your profile, your app preferences (such as followed topics and read updates), likes on discussion posts, and the time you pick when requesting an advising session.
Accounts that are never confirmed are deleted automatically after 48 hours. If you use the Ucademy mobile app, you can delete your campus account yourself at any time (Profile → Edit profile → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, progress, quiz answers, assignments, messages, attachments and discussion posts. Enrolment contracts, payment records and transcripts are kept as described under Data Security & Retention. You can also ask us to do it by writing to info@ucademy.ca, unless we are required by law to keep certain records. Copies of enquiries you already sent us, and our server backups, are kept only as long as necessary and then deleted.

- To respond to your inquiries and provide the information you request
- To send you program details, updates and admissions information you have asked for
- To run your Online Campus account — sign-in, progress, messages, support requests and lesson discussions
- To operate, maintain and improve our website and services
- To comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations
Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers (for example, website hosting and email delivery) who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, or where required or permitted by law.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to support core functionality and to understand how the site is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; some features may not function as intended if cookies are disabled.
Data Security & Retention
We use reasonable physical, technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.
Enrolment records. Alberta requires licensed career colleges to keep enrolment contracts, payment and refund records, attendance records and transcripts for compliance reviews. We keep these records even if you delete your campus account: transcripts and credential records permanently; enrolment contracts and payment and refund records for at least 7 years after your program ends; complaint and appeal records for at least 7 years. Contract details such as your date of birth and Alberta Student Number are seen only by our Registrar’s office.
Your Rights
You have the right to access and request correction of your personal information, and to withdraw your consent to our use of it at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@ucademy.ca.
Changes & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the most current version will always be posted on this page. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@ucademy.ca.
Please note: Ucademy’s programs are pending licensing approval in Alberta. This policy will be reviewed and updated as our operations are finalized.Cookies and Tracking Technologies
This website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to keep the site functioning, remember your preferences, and help us understand how visitors use our pages so we can improve them.
- Essential cookies are required for core site functionality, such as form submission and security. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics and preference cookies help us measure traffic and improve the experience. These are optional, and you can decline them using the cookie notice shown when you first visit.
You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the notice that appears on your first visit, and you can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Declining non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the site or requesting information about our programs.
Our Own Visit Records
In addition to the optional analytics described above, we keep a basic record of website visits on our own server to understand how the site is used and to help keep it secure. This record is first-party — it stays on our server and is not shared with any advertising network or third-party analytics provider.
For each visit we may record the pages viewed, the date and time, the website or search engine you arrived from, the general type of device and browser, and your IP address. If you are signed in to a student or staff account, the visit is also associated with your account name so that our team can provide support. This information is retained for up to 180 days and then automatically deleted. If you would like your visit records removed sooner, you can contact us using the details in the “Changes & Contact” section above.
