Career Services
Practical support to turn new skills into a job search that works — from your first resume draft to your first interview.
Support built into your program
Finishing a program is the start of the next step, not the end. Ucademy career services are designed to help you present your skills to Alberta employers with confidence: a resume that reads well, a clear plan for where to apply, and practice for the interviews that follow.
Career services do not guarantee a job — no honest college can. What they give you is structured, professional preparation so you can compete for the roles your program trains you for.

What career support includes
- Career planning conversation — map your program to realistic first roles and the employers who hire for them
- Resume and cover-letter reviews in Canadian format, including how to present international or career-change experience
- Interview preparation — common questions, behavioural answers using the STAR method, and mock interviews by video
- LinkedIn and portfolio reviews — for tech students, a GitHub portfolio that shows real projects
- Job-search strategy for Alberta — where roles are posted, how to approach employers directly, and how to track applications
- Practicum and internship preparation for programs that include workplace experience (how placements work)
When you can use it
- While you study
Build your resume and LinkedIn early, plan your target roles, start networking

Where to look for jobs in Alberta
Big employers post on their own sites first, so check them directly as well as the job boards. Many health and office roles start as casual or part-time positions.
| Field | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Healthcare administration Medical office assistant, unit clerk | Alberta Health Services careers (search “unit clerk”), Covenant Health careers, and clinic postings on Job Bank and Indeed |
| Office, administration and supply chain | Job Bank, Indeed, LinkedIn, Government of Alberta jobs, City of Calgary and City of Edmonton careers |
| IT, cybersecurity and software | LinkedIn, Indeed and Job Bank; public employers such as the Government of Alberta and city governments also hire IT staff |
| Career and labour-market information | alis — the Government of Alberta’s career, learning and job-search site — and the job outlook on Job Bank |
Watch for job scams: real employers do not ask you to pay for training, equipment or a job offer. Links go to outside sites that Ucademy does not control.
