Common questions
How long does the Alberta licensing review typically take?
The Alberta Private Vocational Training Act does not specify a fixed review window. In practice, reviews range from several months to over a year depending on the volume of applications, the complexity of the submission, and any requests for additional information. We cannot predict or guarantee a completion date.
Can I start work on the project now?
Preparatory and platform work is ongoing. For instructors and subject matter experts, curriculum review and material finalisation can proceed. For contractors in other areas, please discuss your specific engagement scope directly with the Ucademy team — some workstreams are active, others are staged to start at licensing.
Will I be notified when the licence is issued?
Yes. Everyone on the contractor and partner list, as well as the student interest list, will receive direct notification as soon as the licence is confirmed — before any public announcement.
What programs will Ucademy offer?
Seven programs across three fields: Administrative Assistant Diploma, Business Administration Diploma (Supply Chain Management) in Business; IT Professional Certificate, Software & Web Developer Diploma, Cybersecurity Specialist Diploma, Security Analyst Certificate in Technology; and Medical Office Assistant & Unit Clerk Certificate in Healthcare.
