Funding finder: which options fit you?
Three quick questions, then a short list of ways to pay for a career program worth checking — with an honest note on what applies now and what only applies later.

Your results are sorted three ways
Employer support and personal financing — these don’t depend on designation.
EI-funded training, WCB retraining, union funds, ISET and Windmill — approval usually comes before you enrol.
Student loans and grants, tax credits, RRSP Lifelong Learning Plan and RESP — only once a program is licensed and designated, and only if it qualifies.

Frequently asked questions
Is the funding finder a guarantee that I qualify?
No. It points you to options worth checking based on your answers. Each provider sets its own rules and amounts and makes its own decision.
Can I get a student loan for a Ucademy program now?
Not yet. Alberta Student Aid and Canada Student Loans and Grants are only available for designated programs, and a program can only be designated after it is licensed — Alberta’s rules for new private career colleges then add a waiting period of at least 12 months and require at least 10 graduates. Employer support and personal financing can be explored now.
Can I use my RRSP or RESP?
Only if the program qualifies. The RRSP Lifelong Learning Plan and RESP education payments apply to qualifying programs at eligible institutions. This is not yet confirmed for Ucademy, so check with CRA or your RESP provider.
Are my answers saved?
No. The funding finder runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to Ucademy or saved.
How to use your results
- Start with what you can explore now. Employer support and personal financing do not depend on student-aid designation, so those conversations can begin today.
- Ask providers before you plan around them. EI-funded training, WCB retraining, union funds, ISET and Windmill all have their own approval steps, and approval usually has to come before you enrol.
- Treat the rest as “later”. Student loans and grants, tax credits, the RRSP Lifelong Learning Plan and RESP payments can only apply to a program once it is licensed and designated — and only if that program qualifies.
