Frequently asked questions
Does registering commit my organization to anything?
No. Registering interest only means we can contact you to talk about hosting when programs open. Every placement is agreed in writing, case by case.
How long is a placement?
The Medical Office Assistant & Unit Clerk practicum is 100 hours and the Administrative Assistant internship is 86 hours. The schedule is agreed with you before the placement starts.
Do I have to pay the student?
Practicums and internships are learning placements and are usually unpaid. If you choose to pay a student, tell us and we will reflect it in the placement agreement.
Can we set our own requirements, such as a police check?
Yes. Tell us about any requirements, such as a police information check, immunizations or a confidentiality orientation, and they are included in the placement agreement before a student is matched with you.
When will students be available?
Not yet. Placements come at the end of each program, so the first students would be ready some months after programs begin. We will keep registered employers informed.
