Frequently asked questions

How does the program quiz work?

You answer ten multiple-choice questions. Six are about your interests — the work you enjoy, your strengths, where you would like to work and the difference you want to make. Four are practical: how comfortable you are with computers and numbers, whether a healthcare practicum suits you, how long a program you want, and how many hours a week you can study. Each answer adds points to the programs it fits. The highest score is your best match, shown with the reasons behind it and a runner-up. Wage and job-outlook figures are shown for information only and never change the ranking. Your answers are used only to calculate the result on your screen.

Does the quiz cover every Ucademy program?

Yes. The quiz covers all seven Ucademy programs: Administrative Assistant, Business Administration – Supply Chain, IT Professional, Software & Web Developer, Cybersecurity Specialist, Security Analyst Certificate, and Medical Office Assistant & Unit Clerk. It suggests a best fit and a runner-up, and you can also see all seven side by side on the comparison page.

Is a certificate or a diploma the better fit for me?

That depends on your goal and the time you have. Ucademy's certificates run 420–516 hours and its diplomas 806–960 hours (the Supply Chain diploma is 14 courses). The Government of Alberta describes certificates as shorter, role-focused credentials and diplomas as broader preparation for a field. See our guide to certificate vs diploma vs degree in Canada.

What happens if I enter my email after the quiz?

Entering your email is optional. If you do, we email you a copy of your result, save your answers so an advisor can help you, and let you know when intakes open — there is no commitment. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

Where do the wage and outlook figures come from?

From the Government of Canada’s Job Bank: the Alberta median hourly wage and the 2025–2027 employment outlook for the occupation most related to each program. They describe the whole occupation in Alberta — including experienced workers — not what Ucademy students earn, and they are not a promise of a job or a wage. The salary calculator uses the same figures.
